What makes the Purpose Planner different?
The structure of the Purpose Planner centres around connectivity and holistic planning. Where most planners simply provide space for schedules and activity, the Purpose Planner goes several layers deeper, guiding you to set compartmentalised goals for the next 6 months and then connecting and tracking them across your life, to your learning, rewards, monthly projects and weekly tasks.
It is also laid out to flow the way we work with each month a self-contained section starting with the monthly spread, followed by 5 weekly dashboards separated by blank note pages.
A key feature behind the design is that you shouldn’t have to carry around a planner and a notebook. The Purpose Planner doubles up as both with 93 blank numbered, dot-grid note pages.
What is the size of the notebook?
The notebook is B5 (19x25cm and about 1cm thick). The size is in between A4 and A5.
We chose this size as it provides sufficient space to write without being too big and bulky. The soft cover makes it a little lighter, more flexible and more compact while the hardcover is for those that prefer a sturdier choice.
What is the best way to optimize the weekly dashboard?
The weekly planning spread is at the heart of the Purpose Planner and is designed to be a 1-stop strategy dashboard for the week ahead. We recommend setting out your priorities, daily habits and schedules for the week on a Sunday evening or Monday morning. What this does is give you clarity about your priorities and focuses you on the tasks, routines and relationships that move the needle in your life.
You will find yourself minimising “busy-work” while taking care of those annoying admin items that you typically procrastinate. The weekly dashboard also speaks to you. The sections that are left blank make you aware of the gaps in your life and it’s up to you to fill them in.

As far as the usability of the planner, I would rate it 5 stars and highly recommend it, but successive design changes have been disappointing and I felt needed addressing. I bought my first Roterunner in 2022, and have since bought one every six months because of how practical and useful they are. However, some changes that have occurred over time have been very disappointing. First, I noticed the quality of paper decreased from a sturdy opaque stationary-quality to a thinner, printer paper-quality. Then, with successive editions, frustrating changes occurred such as the removal of the month name line on the month cover pages, removal of the day lines under the sleep tracker, and the changing of the day boxes on the monthly outline and the day of the week boxes in the “Gratitude and Health” section to circles. This last one was particularly frustrating, as the squares complimented the neat, organized nature of the planner, while the circles are much harder to cleanly fit the day letters and dates into. A few other changes have occurred too, which all make me struggle to understand why. So far, the best version of this planner was the one I bought in early 2022, and each successive change as seemed to be a downgrade. I plan to keep using these planners as they are very efficient, but would appreciate a return to the earlier quality and design as it was far superior.

I'm on my fourth one and I love it! The 6-month reviews are the perfect amount of time to allow you to reassess and readjust. It's also amazing to see how far I'd come - from "look for job" on a task list to "call movers, schedule with HR" at my new job in a new state! I looked at interviews, notes, everything and it seemed like a lifetime ago but just a few months. Plus, I love my task lists to check off!

I got a Roterunner for Christmas and love it! I've already bought my planner for the 2nd half of the year. I love the layout, it's very adaptable and one of my favorite features is the way that the task lists are broken up into different areas of life (i.e. work, home, projects). I will never use another planner!

This is the first planner I have truly been consistent with. I started using it in Jan 2024, and have already purchased a second one for the second half of the year. I use it for both personal and work purposes and it is so helpful to be able to have all I need in one book. It provides monthly and weekly calendars, as well as notes pages for each week.

As a doodler, the extra two-page spread after each week and month are gamechangers!! Having space to mindmap plans or draw out unstructured notes makes all the difference for me in choosing Roterunner. I love the focus on roles and goals, weekly priority lists, and the meal trackers - all standard things i really wanted. What I didn't expect was how meaningful the spaces for weekly notes, gratitude reflections and the monthly reflection prompts would be in keeping track of my progress in building a new business. Having all these included have helped me incorporate them into my planning routines, so I stay on task while lots of space to dream!
